During heavy rain storms, sand-set paver (brick, tile, stone, block, etc.) patios lack adequate drainage to quickly evacuate water from the patio surface and subbase. Standing water can compromise the subbase causing pavers to shift, resulting in an uneven surface. Installing an adequate thickness of aggregate drainage to alleviate this problem requires extensive excavation, haul-away, labor, and material cost.
AWD geocomposite soil drain products provide the high flow capacity required to quickly and efficiently evacuate water from the subbase, allowing the area to dry quickly and resulting in a more stable wearing surface. AWD soil drains are cost-effective, easy to install, and low-profile to minimize the amount of excavation, haul-away, labor, and material cost.
SITEDRAIN Sheet Series products are installed on compacted soil with the fabric side facing up. The sand setting bed / leveling course is placed directly on the fabric, and pavers are then installed on the leveling course.
SITEDRAIN Strip Series products are installed around the perimeter of the paver patio to collect water from the sheet drain and transport it to designated drainage outlets.
