City Of Hudson Ohio

Hudson, Ohio

General Contractor:

Perrin Ashault

Hudson Ohio native soils have large percentages of clay making road construction a challenge. Poorly drained saturated clay can cause the road base to become unstable, resulting in a compromised road requiring repair.

Remediation required the sub-base be repaired with cement stabilization, but more importantly the underdrain system needed to be designed to maximize contact with the sub-base to prevent future saturation.

The City of Hudson chose to specify prefabricated gecomposite edgedrain for this project. It provided the large drainage contact area required to keep the sub-base intact and also minimized the site disturbance by reducing the amount of excavation required during installation.
Perrin Asphalt was awarded the contract for the installation of 18,000 liner feet of a prefabricated geocomposite underdrain. AWD’s SITEDRAIN Strip 6412 met DOT specifications, and was chosen due to the support provided by American Wick Drain and our strong Distribution network. The City of Hudson design validates that prefabricated geocomposite edgedrains are a cost effective way of providing superior drainage for road remediation projects.
